WKUY-LP,
as part of a 501-c-3, not-for-profit corporation is privately funded by donations,
fundraisers and sponsorships. Current FCC regulations do not permit
LPFM stations to sell commercials as standard commerical radio stations do,
but they do permit sponsorships.
Sponsorship
regulations permit the broadcast of the name, address, phone numbers and other
contact information of the sponsoring company, along with the company slogan,
as well as a list and description of products sold
or services offered. Sponsorships cannot call to action or advocate
one product or service over any other. A typical sponsorship might sound
like this:
"Programming on WKUY-LP is sponsored
in part by The Newport Telephone Company & NTCnet, where our best customer
relationship experts are our customers ™" -- For complete telephone
and Internet access, contact Newport Telephone Company at 315 845-2000 or
315 866-0200 or visit us on the web at www.ntcnet.com. Newport Telephone
Company, on Bridge Street in Newport."
WKUY-LP
has different sponsorship levels and plans to meet your company's budget and
is most appreciative of all of our sponsors. For more information about
rates and plans, please contact Ted Foss or Alan
Smith at 315-845-1059. There are many sponsorship opportunities
for specific programs or as a general sponsor. Sponsorships
may be tax deductible as permitted by law. Check with your accountant
or tax advisor to determine the extent and amount applicable.
